I ran across a combination of supportive academics who encouraged me to finish my degree and bureaucratic roadblocks that frequently soured the experience. The enthusiastic teachers infused their courses with life, which inspired me to love learning. But the overall experience was hampered by the bureaucratic procedures at the university, which sometimes led to confusion and anger. Despite the campus’s many chances and state-of-the-art amenities, there was a dearth of strong student support services and inconsistent teaching quality, which left much to be desired. Looking back, Plovdiv University offered a solid foundation for development, but there is undoubtedly space for improvement in terms of a smoother and more encouraging learning environment.
View moreI love my program and my classes especially. I think the majority of my professors are good at their job and are very friendly as well! What I don’t like is that there are a few “filler”, if I might say, classes, that I think are irrelevant to my idea of how I would like to apply my major in the future. I think the university, and my faculty specifically, are great and I would recommend it; it is also fitting for international students.
View moreMost students that come to this university keep it as a back up or a safety option, which is exactly what it provides; a second chance at medicine for those that could not get in to their first choice. Generally, there is a great vibe in the city as the locals are friendly and their are plenty of international students, mainly from England, Italy and Greece. The teaching is of standard quality you would expect in a medical university however the quality of the facilities, especially the library, can be lacking.
View moreIt’s a good place to study, Plovdiv city centre has a nice vibe and atmosphere. The system is flexible when it comes to attendance cause many people work and study and still manage to graduate. I’ve enjoyed the contact with certain members of the academic staff while others turned out to disappoint. There was a lack of choice when it came to elective courses. All in all it was a positive experience. You should remember that it is up to you to push yourself and develop skills and areas of knowledge you find useful, but the Uni provides a good base to build up upon.
View moreMy experience as a Bachelor’s and a Master’s graduate from University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski is entirely positive. I received a very high-quality education there and also the necessary practical qualifications to start a good job in my major. I am entirely satisfied with the level of learning and the teaching practices at the University. I would definitely recommend studying there to anyone who is willing to get knowledge with the help of some of the most qualified professors in Bulgaria.
