Currently I am at my final year at Electrical Engineering on the University of Tuzla. These three and a half years have gone by so fast that it’s practically unbelievable and I am feelling a bit sad that it’s almost over, because I can say that this so far the best part of my life. I made so many friendships for which I am sure will last for a lifetime, so many memories that I love to look back at and gained so much knowledge that will sure help with my future career. Also I am in a non-government organisation where I was a part of a organisation teams for a few projects where I learnt many soft skills besides the hard skills that are related to my field of study.
When I first started college, I was afraid that I won’t be able to handle all of this and I have to be honest, the first year was really hard, it is not easy to transition from high school to college especially if you have nobody by your side. But as days and weeks went by, we all started to get to know each other and it was easier, because we had each other and we could help one another when stuck.
On the second year, we were separated each on their course, mine is Automatics and Robotics and that is were the real work actually started. We had a few practical exercises where we could actually see a code come to life.
There are about 25 people on my course and on the second year we really connected and we are like a little family. We spend breaks together, help each other, laugh, play games and make memories.
On the third year everything I have learnt until then finally made sense. Every lecture that I had, I understood what the professor was saying and I was able to answer their questions and make myself memorable. All the time I was like “Hey, I get this” or “I know about this”. It really feels awesome to be able to connect all the dots.
On my fourth and final year, well I can say that we have a good connection with our professors and they really show appreciation for people who are hard-working and now I am sure that everything I have done so far and will do is going to pay off. We have a lot of practical exercises which I love because that is when you can see what you are learning, you are able to programm a car to drive or a robotic hand to move.
Also I had the opportunity to attend a training school with other professors from european Universities and that is were I made sure that University of Tuzla and Electrial Engineering Tuzla really gives you all needed knowledge for being a Electrical Engineer and that Tuzla can stand side by side with all the other european cities.
