My review of my study programme.

I would say that my study programme at this university has great potential, as the syllabus is very similar to many of those at other highly ranked European and American universities. However, I feel like the support from our professors and teaching assistants is not sufficient for us to have an effective learning experience.

    Great university

The education program is really good, but it lacks a little bit of equipment to learn about practical knowledge. Professors are great, they do their best to transfer knowledge, and help whenever needed. During Covid-19 professors did great job teaching over Google meet.

Professionality, interesting , fun, positive vibes

I think it is a really good university. Professors are professional, they are friendly and interesting. If you want to go on student exchange let your choice be the University of Tuzla. I am a student at this university for 2 years and I feel really satisfied and safe.

Professors are amazing! Not only are they experienced, professional and well-educated, they are also extremely patient and obliging. They are always doing their best to provide knowledge to students but also to help them adapt to the system itself.

    Electrical Engineering

Currently I am at my final year at Electrical Engineering on the University of Tuzla. These three and a half years have gone by so fast that it’s practically unbelievable and I am feelling a bit sad that it’s almost over, because I can say that this so far the best part of my life. I made so many friendships for which I am sure will last for a lifetime, so many memories that I love to look back at and gained so much knowledge that will sure help with my future career. Also I am in a non-government organisation where I was a part of a organisation teams for a few projects where I learnt many soft skills besides the hard skills that are related to my field of study.

When I first started college, I was afraid that I won’t be able to handle all of this and I have to be honest, the first year was really hard, it is not easy to transition from high school to college especially if you have nobody by your side. But as days and weeks went by, we all started to get to know each other and it was easier, because we had each other and we could help one another when stuck.

On the second year, we were separated each on their course, mine is Automatics and Robotics and that is were the real work actually started. We had a few practical exercises where we could actually see a code come to life.
There are about 25 people on my course and on the second year we really connected and we are like a little family. We spend breaks together, help each other, laugh, play games and make memories.

On the third year everything I have learnt until then finally made sense. Every lecture that I had, I understood what the professor was saying and I was able to answer their questions and make myself memorable. All the time I was like “Hey, I get this” or “I know about this”. It really feels awesome to be able to connect all the dots.

On my fourth and final year, well I can say that we have a good connection with our professors and they really show appreciation for people who are hard-working and now I am sure that everything I have done so far and will do is going to pay off. We have a lot of practical exercises which I love because that is when you can see what you are learning, you are able to programm a car to drive or a robotic hand to move.
Also I had the opportunity to attend a training school with other professors from european Universities and that is were I made sure that University of Tuzla and Electrial Engineering Tuzla really gives you all needed knowledge for being a Electrical Engineer and that Tuzla can stand side by side with all the other european cities.

    .

There are times where I have really enjoyed myself and I have made friends with some unforgettable people and created many long lasting memories, but also there have been times where I have felt so low and wanted to quit, but I stuck in and remembered that there is so much more left I have to experience and I look forward to it.

    Professors and laboratories

If im being honest the UNTZ is missing a lot of things, but it also gets a lot of things right. The good thing about this university is the professors. The quality of the lectures is mostly on a very high level, but like with anything theres exceptions. Here you will find employees who will do anything to transfer their knowledge to you and are open to any kind of discussion and/or suggestions. But on the other side there are some who are there just because it’s their job, and those are the lectures that lack quality. The other low side is the laboratories, there are very few of them, and they are very poorly equipped. They don’t require a lot of funding to get to an appropriate level that would satisfy the need of every student, it’s just that no one is working on fixing it. All in all you will be satisfied with the knowledge you are leaving this university with and should have no problems in your future workplace.

The faculties of the University are not located in the same place, within the campus, but are in different parts of the city. However, most are located in the center which is a benefit for students. The University of Tuzla offers many faculties, and faculties have many directions, so at the University of Tuzla it is possible to acquire knowledge from almost all prospective areas. The best side of the University of Tuzla is professors, who are also the largest experts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a drawback I would point out the lack of material resources at all faculties. Laboratories are not sufficiently equipped to diminish the quality of learning.

    An honest opinion

If someone says everything is honey and milk, it is not, it can’t be, but I believe nowhere is. A lot of professors are really friendly and forthcoming if you have any questions. But there are some professors that are arrogant to the bone. The lectures can be interesting, and some professors try really hard to make that happen, but mostly they don’t care and just try to put out as much stuff as they can. (quantity over quality I guess)
The laboratories are underequipped and the lack of practical work is really big. There are no chances of having a summer practice in any firm that faculty would organise or offer to the students.
One of the good things is that professors don’t make you buy some specific books to pass an exam (which I heard is common in some other faculties)
