Heavy program but it works out every time Idk how. Teachers are not clear sometimes while explaining. They expect us to know already everything. Exercise sessions are not efficient in some subjects. Some labs are far away and we barely have time for a break.

The fact that this university only evaluates students with 1 exam per semester makes it way more hard compared to similar one with the same positions in world rankings. In my opinion, testing students knowledge this way won’t actually show their true capacities.

If there is one thing KU Leuven taught me, that would have to be discipline. I entered the university experience pursuing a Bachelor in Engineering Technology hoping to obtain a top noch education, and that is exactly what I was offered. The professors came from all different engineering disciplines and were all extremely achieved in their academic profiles. Contacting the professors was very easy and some of them even offered study sessions for student who felt behind in school. The curriculum however, was extremely packed and difficult at times. While the weekly labs were tiring with a lot of lengthy reports to complete, the exams were the real monsters. Most students failed specific exams and you could feel how everyone was extremely stressed during exam periods. It is fair to say though, that you will most likely not have a chance to pass the courses unless you develop discipline and study daily for each subject. There is no way to cram all the studying and still pass. When it comes to the students frequenting the school, they are mostly very friendly people who will strike up a conversation with everyone.Since the university is so renowned, and the best engineering school in Belgium, it will be easy for you to find a job after graduation. Just be wary of the graduation rates which are extremely low. There will be a lot of students dropping out during the first year.

I generally enjoy this university. The professors are really good and as an engineer, you are introduced to a broad background. The only thing that could be improved is to make the students have less theory and more practical experience (e.g. by promoting internships). You can do it optionally in your last year in masters but it is not promoted well IMO.
