This university is of a very good standard. They are well equipped with good teachers and lecturers, although, since it is located in a fairly lesser developed region of the country, some of the teachers and the people tend to be quite racist towards international students.
Also, the fact that certain subjects are required to be studied in Russian language by the international students, is a disadvantage.
Moreover, this university demands 100% attendance from their students throughout the year, which obviously is unfair, and in my opinion, inhumane and means that no student is allowed to fall sick unless they are willing to pay for missed classes and rework. Also, since recently, it has come to notice that the university has become even more overly strict with their rules, in such a way that it has almost become unbearable to its students, proving that the university has become more money minded and less student friendly.
Nevertheless, this university offers a variety of extracurricular activities and cultural events as well as sports. Vitebsk is a beautiful place to live in, and study in.
