I studied in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at the University of Rajshahi, and overall, my experience was very good. Since the department started in 2015, it has been growing quickly and creating strong opportunities for students in both academics and research.
The programme covers major areas like power and energy, electronics, communication, and computer-related engineering, which helped me build a strong technical foundation. I especially liked that the courses were not only theory-based but also focused on practical understanding through lab work, simulations, and project-based learning.
The teachers were supportive and approachable. They encouraged students to think beyond textbooks and helped a lot during projects, presentations, and research work. This made learning more meaningful and helped me develop confidence in my academic journey.
One of the best parts of my experience was getting involved in research activities. It improved my problem-solving skills and gave me valuable exposure to real engineering applications. The department also motivated students to participate in seminars and technical discussions, which made the environment more inspiring.
Campus life at Rajshahi University was also memorable. Along with studies, I made good friends, joined different activities, and learned many things outside the classroom.
However, one area that needs improvement is the infrastructure and support system for international students. As Bangladesh is still a developing country, the facilities and services for foreign students are not always well organized. Very few international students come to study here, and many of them may face challenges in accommodation, administrative processes, and overall adjustment. I hope the university and the government will take stronger initiatives to improve this situation in the future.
Overall, I would rate my programme highly because it helped me grow both academically and personally, and it prepared me well for higher studies and future career goals.

The campus is known for its natural beauty. Long tree-lined roads, open fields, and quiet surroundings create a relaxing atmosphere that’s quite different from the busy city life. Walking or cycling through the campus becomes part of daily routine, giving students a refreshing break from academic pressure.
Academically, students experience a balanced system where both independence and guidance matter. Classes are engaging, and students often spend time in libraries or study groups preparing for exams and assignments. The slower pace compared to big-city universities helps many students concentrate better on their studies.
Campus life is simple but meaningful. Cultural programs, sports events, and student clubs keep things lively. During festivals like Pohela Boishakh, the whole campus comes alive with colors, music, and traditional celebrations, creating unforgettable memories.
Hall life is one of the most special parts of Rajshahi University. Living with friends, sharing meals, and having late-night conversations build strong bonds that last a lifetime. The sense of community here is strong and supportive.
Of course, there are challenges too. The quieter environment may feel slow for some, and students sometimes need to push themselves to stay motivated and competitive.
Overall, life at University of Rajshahi is peaceful yet powerful—it shapes students into focused, grounded, and independent individuals while giving them a truly memorable university experience.
Rajshahi University (RU) is one of the leading public universities in Bangladesh, known for its শান্ত, spacious campus and strong academic reputation. Established in 1953, it has grown into a major center for higher education and research in the northern region of the country.
One of the most notable features of RU is its beautiful and green campus, which provides a শান্ত and মনোরম environment for learning. Unlike the crowded রাজধানী-based institutions, Rajshahi University offers a more relaxed atmosphere that many students find ideal for academic focus and personal growth.
Academically, the university offers a wide range of programs across arts, science, business, and social sciences. Many departments are well-respected, and some faculty members are highly qualified and supportive. However, like many public universities, the quality of teaching and resources can vary depending on the department.
Student life at RU is vibrant, with various cultural organizations, clubs, and extracurricular activities. The বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় has a rich tradition of cultural events, debates, and social engagement, which helps students develop beyond academics. Residential halls play a big role in student life, though accommodation facilities can sometimes be crowded.
On the downside, RU faces challenges such as session jams, administrative delays, and limited modern facilities in some areas. Campus politics can also occasionally disrupt academic activities.
Overall, Rajshahi University remains a top choice for students seeking quality education in a শান্ত and friendly environment. Its natural beauty, cultural richness, and academic opportunities make it a respected institution in Bangladesh, despite some ongoing challenges.
View moreThe University of Rajshahi is one of the most well-known public universities in Bangladesh, respected for its long academic history and strong emphasis on theoretical education. I completed my graduation here, majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, a discipline that demands both deep theoretical understanding and hands-on laboratory skills.
From an academic perspective, the university provided a solid foundation in core theoretical concepts. The curriculum was comprehensive and rigorous, covering essential topics in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, enzymology, and related fields. The faculty members were knowledgeable and dedicated, and many courses encouraged critical thinking and conceptual clarity. This strong theoretical grounding has been valuable in helping me understand complex scientific ideas and adapt to new knowledge in my professional life.
However, one significant limitation of the program was the lack of sufficient practical and laboratory-based training. While practical classes were included in the curriculum, they were often limited in scope, resources, and exposure to modern techniques. As a result, students did not always get enough opportunities to develop hands-on skills that are essential in professional and research-oriented environments. This gap became more apparent to me after entering the workforce, where practical expertise, laboratory confidence, and familiarity with advanced instruments are crucial.
In my professional experience, I realized that although I was well-prepared theoretically, I had to invest extra time and effort to build practical skills that could have been strengthened during my undergraduate studies. Improving laboratory infrastructure, increasing practical class hours, and aligning training with current industry and research standards would greatly enhance the program’s effectiveness.
Overall, the University of Rajshahi offers a strong academic environment with a firm emphasis on theoretical knowledge. With greater focus on practical training and modern laboratory exposure, it has the potential to prepare students more holistically for professional and research careers in biochemistry and molecular biology.
Rajshahi University is one of the top public universities in Bangladesh, known for its academic excellence, beautiful green campus, and vibrant student life. The university offers a wide range of subjects, experienced faculty members, and strong research opportunities. The campus is peaceful and well-maintained, providing an ideal environment for study and personal growth. With modern facilities, active cultural and sports clubs, and a strong sense of community, it’s a great place for higher education. I highly recommend Rajshahi University for anyone looking for quality education in a supportive setting.
