I attended Government City College, Chattogram, from 2011 to 2012 for my Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in the Science group, graduating in 2013. Overall, I would rate my experience 3.5 out of 5.
The most memorable aspect of my time there was the student community. The college brought together students from many of the top secondary schools in Chattogram, creating an academically competitive and diverse environment. It was also my first experience with the greater independence that comes with higher secondary education, making those two years both enjoyable and personally enriching.
The college had several knowledgeable and dedicated teachers. However, a few could be quite strict or occasionally rude in their interactions with students, although they were also lenient and understanding at times. My experience with the faculty was therefore mixed rather than consistently positive or negative.
Since the HSC program lasts less than two years, my time at the college was relatively short, and neither its strengths nor its weaknesses became especially pronounced. I did not encounter any major issues, but there were also few standout features that made the institution exceptional.
Overall, I would recommend Government City College to students looking for a good place to complete their HSC. While the experience may not be extraordinary, the diverse student body and generally capable teaching staff provide a solid environment for academic preparation before university.
