Studying Finance at ASUE gave me a solid foundation in economic and financial theory, and I appreciated the dedication of most lecturers. The program offers good opportunities to participate in research and university projects, and some courses are truly practical and career-oriented.
However, one thing I disliked is that some parts of the curriculum feel outdated, especially in areas like financial technology and digital tools. In a fast-changing world, it would be helpful to have more modern, tech-driven content and hands-on learning with real data.
Despite that, the overall environment is supportive, and I would still recommend the program to students who want to build a career in finance or economics.

Constantly reviewing and refining the curriculums and syllabi of numerous professions and specializations, educational documents, standards are the basis of the University activities, and it’s already a few years that serious scientific activity is being carried out in “AMBERD” Research Center and via the University SEGs on the way of becoming a research University.
The number of University auditoriums equipped with the modern information technologies is increasing day by day, e-library, QR library and “Smart Walls” are operated there.
Parallel to steps aimed at improving educational and academic quality, enhancing the University reputation, huge construction works have been also carried out during the previous five years to make the environment comfortable, aesthetic and useful for study.
Armenian State University of Economics has many departments like Management, Finance, Accounting and Audit, International Economic Relations, Marketing, Computer Science. I got my bachelor degree in Management in this university. By the time I studied there (2010-2014), the classes had mainly theoretical part, almost no practical, most of the professors had lack of abroad training and up-to-date knowledge. Besides, some of the courses were not relevant to the specialization at all and you had no right to refuse taking those courses. This was actually very disappointing, as I expected the classes to be more up-to-date, more career-oriented. But still, here you can get sound knowledge for all the best managerial theories and practices if you’re eager to learn. In order to get your bachelor degree in this university, you need to study for 4 years, and 2 for masters. Mainly local people study here, there’s almost no nationality diversity.
The university has several buildings separated for different faculties. The library is not very diverse. The university has its own cafeteria and sport ground.
For me, this is a medium-level university, which can give you some basic knowledge to start your evolution from 🙂
