I studied at Yerevan State University and overall my experience was quite positive. The university has a strong academic foundation and many of the professors are knowledgeable and experienced in their fields. Some of them really try to engage students and explain the material in an understandable and practical way, which I appreciated a lot.
The atmosphere at the university is also a big plus. You get to meet different people, build connections, and participate in various student activities and events. This helped me grow not only academically but also personally. The location is convenient as well, since it is in the center of Yerevan.
However, there are some downsides. Sometimes the organization of the учебного процесса could be better, and not all subjects felt equally useful or modern. In some cases, more practical knowledge and updated materials would improve the experience.
Overall, I think this university is a good choice if you are motivated and willing to study. It gives you a solid base and opportunities for future development.
View moreGreat university. In-depth studies, great professors. Would benefit from more practical internship opportunities and exchange programmes in other countries to prepare students for their entry into the labour market and equip them better knowledge.
View moreYes, I would recommend. Good quality education, professional staff. Would be better if they cooperated more with potential employers to ensure smooth transition to the labour market. Exchange programmes with universities abroad would also be a plus.
View moreMy 11 years duration education was the most challenging and interesting path in my life.
I have learnt and developed the most important qualities and skills: being organized, hardworking, self-confident and goal orientated .
The university is the oldest in the country and is one of the leading ones. What I liked about the university is that it’s the only one in the country that offers a wide range of majors to choose from, that’s to say it is not just specialized in just a couple of professions. As for my own experience I mostly enjoyed studying German; I had great professors who made the learning process both effective and fun. As a result of my hard work and my professors’ ability to teach the language so well I was able to receive a scholarship and attend a summer school in Germany. I also really enjoyed studying Foreign literature; this gave me a chance to enrich my knowledge about the world of literature, see things from another point of view and dive deeper in the works of great authors. Aside from academic experience I really liked being part of the indoor climbing club which was a great opportunity to meet new people and be physically active.
What I did not like was the library; unfortunately most of the books were really old and so the information was also outdated. Another thing I didn’t really enjoy were the lectures which were not interactive at all.
