The university from the outside looks like a picture postcard incarnation of a Parisian university. There are some impressive lecture theatres and concert halls in the university as well as the divine library. However, past the impressive main parts of the university, some of the rooms and corridors in the university are quite run down – it is a public university and students don’t pay tuition fees. The teaching is quite ‘old-school’ with teachers and lecturers using blackboard and chalk and dictating whole bits of text whilst the students copy ferociously. The standard of teaching was very high but it was sometimes frustrating because there were no powerpoints and very few of the resources were available online.
