Sydney, as well as the rest of Australia,  is blessed with people from rich ethnicities, which makes it an interesting city to live in. So, even if you are an international student who hasn’t yet found their tribe, it will be easy to do so. Just venture out a bit and open yourself to a host of possibilities!

Amazing opportunities for entertainment

Sydney is the city where the city meets the sea, which is why Sydney is host to a lot of opportunities. It offers all the amenities and it also attracts every major musical, has a host of very entertaining bars, a thriving nightlife and everything a student needs to be entertained! Of course, let us not forget about the beaches! After shopping, cafe-hopping, the best idea is to just relax at the beach and take a dip in the ocean. Explore the most happening beaches here, which are  Surfers Paradise and Snappers Rocks in Gold Coast and Bondi Beach which attract the best crowds throughout the year. Cons of studying in Sydney

Expensive student housing

The property prices in Sydney are high and finding a house, let alone a cheap one can be quite difficult. Usually, the university housings are over-crowded and don’t appeal to everyone. Finding cheap housing as an international student can also be difficult, which is why this might be the biggest drawback of studying in Sydney.

Sydney is generally pretty expensive

Even the usual things like a cup of coffee or a meal will cost you way more than in the US. Which is why it is a good idea to take a scholarship and also sort out your finances before coming to study here. Since Australia has one of the highest standards of living in the world, one can expect the prices to be at par as well. A plus point here is that Australia has the highest minimum wage in the world, so if you want to work while studying it is not a bad option.

Crazy traffic

The traffic in Sydney can get pretty crazy during the high season. Sitting bumper to bumper is no one’s idea of fun! So, opting for public transport might seem like a better idea here in Sydney.

Crowded local areas

If you’re studying in Sydney and can’t wait to explore the sights of Sydney then be ready for crowded streets. Since Sydney is known to have some of the most beautiful sights, lots of tourists visit the city during peak time.

All in all, Sydney makes for a great place to study. The many local attractions, nearly perfect weather, long summers and friendly locals are a recipe for a student-friendly city. Moreover, there are many bars and beaches to explore as well. If you can manage your finances well, then Sydney can be one of the best places to study!
