A major positive point which a lot of students seem to like is that the University of Crete is really focussed on research. A lot of students think that they got great assistance and guidance from the professors. The studying programs are also so expansive that they cover many fields of study. One also has many opportunities to work at the labor work as an assistant.

Students also claim that this is one of the best Universities in Greece! There are many good professors from Europe and North America. A major plus about the University of Patras is that it is that there are high-level professors here. There are 4 different fields to choose from; electricity, computer science, telecommunications & automation. The students feel that education of all the fields is up to the mark.

Another great positive that is pointed out by students here is that the University of Patras is family-friendly. It is also located in the city centre and hence really well connected as well. The University is less than 10 km from the town centre. And the campus is beautiful as well.

University of Crete downfalls

A major drawback that runs through both the Universities is that the students feel the need for more emphasis on practical research and experience. Even though the most of the students have given a 5 star to the University of Crete! A lot of students have commented on the amazing research they were able to do in this University. Hence, there are not many downfalls to cover here.

University of Patras downfalls

Though the University of Patras was applauded by most of the students, one major theme that runs through the comments is that not all the departments of the University receive a world-class education. Mostly, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Geology and such other subjects are given more weight while other courses are neglected.

Other students also state that the knowledge is purely theoretical and less practical. Even though the labs are very well-equipped the students are not allowed to use it. Which is a major drawback. Some students have said that the equipment is outdated as well, as the University focusses more on theoretical knowledge.

If we compare both universities, University of Crete has received many good recommendations from the students in terms of research, world-class facilities, trained professors and high-quality free education.
