High School Graduation is approaching and you are still confused about what do study in the future? Depending on which career you want to pursue, you can choose between a BA and a BSc. A BA degree is a Bachelor of the Arts, meanwhile, a BSc is a Bachelor of Science.
We at EDUopinions will tell you all about the differences between these two types of degrees.

The Basic Difference Between BA and BSc Degrees
A Bachelor of Arts degree program is focused on studies such as foreign languages, communication, music, liberal arts, and other disciplines in the Humanities area. It normally lasts three to four years, depending on where you will be studying. For example, a BA lasts four years in the USA but only three in Italy.
Students can choose from a very broad list of classes, making it easier on them to come up with their own schedule and meet their personal goals.
A Bachelor of Science can take from three to five years to complete, again, depending on the country, the institute, etc. It is strictly focused on the subject matter, giving students fewer possibilities to choose their classes. In fact, they have to spend their academic energies on learning the technical and practical aspects of their course.
Career Opportunities
Both these types of undergraduate degrees provide equal recognition and value at completion and they both lead to a Master’s Degree. A BA is more dedicated to mastering skills in communication and writing. At the completion of a BA, there are many career paths that students can take. Among all, there are education roles (tutoring and teaching), media and comms organisations, advertising, arts and cultural organisations, etc.
A BSc is dedicated to teaching students to see things from an analytical and practical point of view. At the completion of a BSc, there are also many career paths that students can take. Among all, any kind of engineering, architecture, chemistry, and so on.
As you can see, both undergraduate degree types offer many job opportunities. We hope that this guide highlighted the many differences between a BA and a BSc. If you would like to continue your research and move on to MAs and MScs, click here.
