Not all that shines is gold

In general, I would say this school has a lack of communication with its employees. Both with student consultants and teachers so they have a lack of information in several important questions. In that case, if we have information and we know everything we need to then the bürocratic system of the school makes it harder to get what we desire within the foreseeable future. If we need to hand in any type of request we have to pay big enough amounts and this doesn't even ensure we get the answer we would like. There is no refund. Another important negative is that teachers' English knowledge is quite weak, the grammar and vocabulary as well, honourable expections. Project tasks are often not life-like, most students don't like these and try to get them from friends in higher grades. Lectures and seminars are mostly very boring because a bigger part of the teachers is just talking without asking students to give feedback. Of course, not all teachers are like this because there are angels as well who do their best. Most positives are given by hard-working, clever and experienced students who try to give as much help and information as possible. I would say they are the heart of this school and they are the people who organize nice events and make the student life good. The English program is very international there are Asian, African and middle-eastern students as well. I would not recommend this university at all. If this time I spent and will spend here will help me build my career it will be only because of the friends I make here however it is easier to find a job with a degree. So all together the school should improve its communication and should provide more language training for its teachers.

Practical Hours/ Language Barrier

My honest opinion of PECS University has evolved significantly over the years. When I first started, I faced numerous challenges, including language barriers, a lack of lecturers who spoke English, and insufficient support for learning Hungarian, especially in my department. However, Pécs listened to our complaints and made strides to improve the situation. If someone had asked me whether I would recommend Pécs while I was still there, I would have said no. However, based on what I see now, I truly believe the improvements are worth giving it a chance. The university has enhanced its resources, offered more diverse course options, and fostered a more inclusive environment. It's also important to mention that Pécs is such a peaceful and serene city, which adds to the overall experience of studying there. If the opportunity arises for me to return for a master's degree, I would certainly consider it, as I believe the university is now better equipped to support its students' success. Overall, I appreciate PECS University's progress and look forward to seeing it grow.

The university that keeps evolving

My experience at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs was ever-changing. I arrived straight out of high school, not sure what to expect from university life. The teachers and professors helped me through my courses: I could always count on them to explain a theory a hundred times, or to write a recommendation so that I could keep exploring opportunities like the Pannónia Scholarship Programme, which took me to Madrid, where I could compare my education with that of students from all over the world, and I held my own. The university didn't stand still while I found my feet, either. When I first arrived, everyone I met had the same story about their high school: it got renovated and improved the moment they graduated. Here, I got to watch that happen in real time. Nearly every semester has brought something new and genuinely better, whether that's a refreshed cafeteria, better materials for a notoriously tricky subject, or a garden where you can finally sit without getting rained on. I believe a university can only give you what you're willing to take from it. I chose to study hard, build real relationships with my professors, take on an additional academic programme alongside my degree, and go abroad, and the university gave me a great deal in return. I'll admit I didn't make the most of the social side, but the options are there. Student societies cover every taste, from the sorority and fraternity experience to sports and academic societies, and if nothing fits, you can always start your own club with your best friends. I've seen it happen. The material is challenging but not unmanageable, the teachers genuinely want students to succeed, and the community is diverse, with many nationalities under one roof. Ultimately, it's a place that rewards the effort you bring to it.
