A Beautiful Campus with a Competitive Spirit

As the premier university in Nigeria, established in 1948 by the British, the University of Ibadan (UI) truly lives up to its motto, "Recte Sapere Fons," a Latin phrase meaning "To think straight is the fount of knowledge" or "For knowledge and sound judgment," The academic rigor here is unmatched, and holding a degree from UI commands instant respect in the Nigerian job market. The faculty is made up of some of the most respected intellectuals in West Africa, ensuring that students are challenged to think critically rather than just memorize. Here are the Pros for attending UI: 1. Reputation: Consistently ranked the #1 university in Nigeria. 2. Environment: The campus is incredibly serene and conducive to learning, distinct from the hustle of Ibadan city. 3. Facilities: The Kenneth Dike Library is a treasure trove for researchers, and the Zoological and Botanical gardens add a unique charm to campus life. 4. Our lecturers (from the junior to the seniors) are very caring, and filled with human sympathy....they would always come through for you no matter the state you are in projects, students - to - lecturers communication etc. They never exploits their students like other school lecturers do. However the Cons are: Administrative processes can sometimes be slow due to the sheer size of the institution. And Yes I would recommend UI every single opportunity I get! Thank you!
