Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology is one of the best universities in Kenya, as a personal opinion and one that is recommended nationally. I went there first because it was a few kilometres away from home and I wanted the experience of living alone and generally to feel like an adult. It was home away from home, that I even stayed one year later even after graduation. The lecturers were quite tough which was a good thing because I almost didn't graduate because I had missed a few classes. All my practical units that required extra coursework outside class always had the lecturers in attendance even when they didn't have to. My lecturers were very friendly and very practical on what the course I did would translate to once I finished. The security was very good especially for a single female young lady miles away from home. There was plenty of room to study, from parks all around the university, the student centre and the library. You could also easily access help from the administration and get to the staff offices for extra help from our lectures without going through loops. I loved it there and yes, I would recommend it to a family or friend, depending on the course they plan to do. I was an introvert in campus but I remember trying things like rollball, table tennis, pool, drama which are available and active even till date.

I joined this university, not because it offers a high education but because of its conducive environment and supportive lecturers and professors. You can find people with different cultural backgrounds, which makes the university inclusive. One problem that the university shares with most universities in Nairobi, is the lack of ergonomic chairs in ICT rooms and the library.
I had the privilege of attending Makerere University, and I must say it was a life-changing experience. As one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Africa, Makerere University exceeded my expectations in many ways.. The university's rich history and cultural diversity provided a unique and enriching experience. I had the opportunity to interact with students from various backgrounds, broadening my perspectives and understanding of the world. The campus facilities, although not perfect, were generally well-maintained and provided adequate resources for learning and recreation. What I disliked: - The bureaucracy and administrative processes could be slow and frustrating at times. However, this is a common challenge in many institutions, and I learned to be patient and persistent. - Some of the facilities, such as the libraries and laboratories, could benefit from modernization and upgrading. However, the university is continually working to improve its infrastructure. What I disliked: - The bureaucracy and administrative processes could be slow and frustrating at times. I highly recommend Makerere University to anyone seeking a world-class education in a vibrant and culturally rich environment. Despite some challenges, the university's strengths far outweigh its weaknesses. With its dedicated staff, diverse student body, and commitment to academic excellence, Makerere University is an excellent choice for students looking to transform their lives and make a positive impact in their communities.

I joined university with a lot of expectations, probably because of the stories told. Not everything turned out as I expected but so far I have had an awesome experience, my interaction with other students has opened my mind greatly.I've learnt to relate well with other people and to accommodate everyone, because we're all different. What stood out for me,is being an independent person, being responsible for my own actions.Campus has a lot of peer pressure and it takes a lot of self control to not go with the wave.
