It can be good and bad, but you can learn a lot from everything

The experience you can get as a student in Sofia University mainly depends on the major and Faculty that you are in. Also, on your motivation and how much do you want to invest in time and efforts to learn something. You can have the positive experience of being taught by very good and quality professors and assistant professors, or some that are not quite good at all, but this is something you can see and experience in any university what so ever. The bureaucracy is annoying for sure.

Commendable lecturers

The curriculum provides a comprehensive overview of various aspects within the specialty, making the degree highly attractive to employers in Bulgaria. Although challenging, pursuing their programs part-time can be more manageable. New Bulgarian University offers more hands-on experience, equipping students with specific skills relevant to the job market. The lecturers are also commendable, offering support and practical insights that make learning more applicable to real-world scenarios, enhancing both the academic and professional development of students.

Expectations vs reality

Overall, the program is quite interesting and exciting. There are some great professors and tutors over there. The level of education is fine, there is a lot of stress involved, but that’s normal for a specialty like Medicine. However, I strongly dislike the lack of organisation, last-minute changes of the program that occur every day. It’s chaotic and brings additional stress to all the students.
