Bmu's review

The university is very much focused on Business and Business and again Business, it literally says in its name: British Management University. No matter for what you apply, they will make you study business anyways. Courses aren’t hard to pass either, they are I’d say easy enough for everyone to pass, however the teachers always lower your mark and don’t tell how they gave out points. The university is again focused only on business so don’t apply if you don’t want to study business. The campus life is fun majority says but for me it was horrible. The most annoying thing was the Internet being literal trash and basically useless. The dormitory looks good, it’s all modern techs and facilities but people here are not very much friendly, and no matter how much money you payed for the university, they will do what they think is right to do. Overall I did not had any academical growth during my first year and the way they were teaching was more of me getting prepared for my hometasks or whatever. It is a boring place and people here are dead, literally dead, they don’t talk and they won’t unless you threaten that their marks will get lower. If I had the opportunity, I’d study at Westminster or Central Asian University. This is my HONEST review and this is how it went for me

Hello,

I recently read your review about British Management University, and I really appreciate you sharing your honest opinion. I’m currently researching different universities and considering BMU as one of my options, so your perspective is very important to me.
1. In your opinion, how much does this university fall behind Westminster University in terms of education quality? I’m wondering if it might be better for me to spend one year preparing and apply to Westminster instead of enrolling at BMU now.
2. What about career prospects? I’ve noticed on their Telegram channel that they often invite guests to the university and hold various conferences. From your experience, how involved are students in all of these activities?
3. If you don’t mind, could we continue this conversation on Telegram so I could ask you more about the university?
Thanks for reading this and I’d be really grateful if you were able to answer.

Hey Nigora,

I’m glad to know that my review is somewhat helping people with their uni selection. I’ll provide you full year experience of mine so that you won’t go through it.

Firstly, what is your major & how does your future look like in BM University? Only if your major is business management, I might consider take bmu as an option here. However, It’s only a “might” in my case. All they taught me was basic math throughout the foundation and some basics for HR… Their “IT” (information technology) classes are about Microsoft office tools and youtube videos.. And their English class is about English but advanced. I’d say it’s around Intermediate level and not quite the advanced there. This is all what you get from the courses that Bmu offers. Personally I didn’t learned nothing much apart from a bit of math and HR basics, BMU failed with providing a good education.

Secondly, University offers pathways to some banks a.k.a Hamkor Bank, Ipak yuli bank & maybe Nbu. They are partnered with UzAuto, Coca Cola, Hyatt, UzAirways and some couple more of so called companies. However, when I asked a question from the HR department of Hamkor bank, they said that they barely accepted people from BMU. They legitimately said that they accepted people with a good background. I would consider choosing BMU only of my major is business management, based on the responses of companies.

I’d say choose Westminster over BMU, because BMU is just an accredited university in Uzbekistan. It’s using Reading Uni’s program but teaching is lacking.
