In 2019, I have received MA in TESOL from the Pennsylvania State University located in State College, University Park, PA, 16801. I can definitely say that is the program worth studying. Throughout my 2-year experience at Pennstate, I developed a number different skills. First of all, I gained a great deal of hands-on teaching experience by taking courses like Teaching ESL and Practicum. They allowed me to attempt using the acquired knowledge in practice. It was also beneficial to work in the class of diverse students coming from different cultural, ethnical, and religious backgrounds. Secondly, I obtained a better understanding about teacher-student interaction since professors at this university are so welcoming and helpful that I learnt a lot from them. They are flexible with the deadlines, willing to help when needed, and knowledgeable in their subject. Last but not least, I learned that any projects or big assignments are done in a better way when divided into chunks and dealt with gradually. That is how we approached our major assignments at Pennstate and that is how I tend to do to my students in my current teaching at the local university.
Overall, University Park Campus is a very peaceful place where students and local residents treat each other with respect. There is a giant library with lots of study space and resources, and there are also a couple of up-to-date sports facilities that will allow you to distress after classes. Two years is the time I proudly and delightedly spent at Pennstate and I am even considering applying there for PhD, so judge yourself whether it is a place worth studying after all.
