Look, I know MSU is not as academically respected as other schools. But first of all, we are still highly respected. Second, academics focus on real-world experiences and do the work to prepare you for life. People also come here to study. So even if you couldn’t get into Harvard because you didn’t put in the effort in high school, fasten your seat belts as soon as you get here. One Saturday night I talked to someone about why Nelson Mandela was my role model. People from the University of Michigan got drunk to celebrate their 3-4 record in soccer. At MSU we have it all and our brightest people rival any other school. People come here for the opportunities academics give you. Honors College has an average of 4.13 and 32 on the ACT. It’s good enough to get into most Ivy Leagues. And that’s what a lot of guys do. So you won’t be left without a large community of smart people.
