I transferred from a community college and UCLA has a strong transfer culture. I stayed in the transfer dorms and it was the best decision I had ever made. I also enjoy being in the Los Angeles area, but I anticipate spending a significant amount of money on Ubers and Lyft. For longer distances, public transportation is ineffective. The weather is nice and I haven’t had a bad class yet but it all depends on your major or department. In my opinion,it was simple for me to find flexible on-campus work. The food is tasty and I appreciate the meal voucher program. You can exchange a meal swipe ticket that can be used at the various food courts on campus. Be aware that sport games can be time consuming.
