JHU’s Advanced Academic Programs are a perfect opportunity for grad students looking to pursue a degree in niche interests. Mark Farrington, the head and founder of the Teaching Writing program, has a firm commitment to developing the students in the program and pushing them to commit themselves to writing that is beyond their traditional scope and beneficial to multiple different aspects of their careers. Classes that stood out were AS.492.612. Teaching Writing, AS.492.635. Teaching and Writing Nonfiction, AS.492.650. Reading Like a Write, and AS.492.690. Residency: Best Practices in the Teaching of Writing.

Johns Hopkins University was an incredible place to study. The instructors are very helpful. The large, contemporary campus offers a wide range of activities. All in all, an excellent university that is demanding and fruitful.
