My experience at Florida International University gave me a real understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that come with navigating college life, which is why I feel confident in helping other students shape their own paths. What stood out most to me were the professors in my program, many of whom were approachable, knowledgeable, and invested in student success, which showed me how much the right mentorship can impact someone’s journey. I also valued the diversity of the student body and the chance to connect with people from so many different backgrounds, which broadened my perspective on career and personal growth. At the same time, I experienced some of the frustrations that come with communication and administrative processes, especially around scheduling and financial aid, and I know how overwhelming those moments can feel for students. Because of this, I would recommend FIU to those who want a culturally vibrant and academically strong environment — and I believe my own mix of positive experiences and challenges there gives me the empathy and perspective to guide other students in making informed choices about their education and careers.
View moreAs of August 2025, I’ve completed my first semester at FIU. To be quite honest, I’ve had very little to no bad experiences. Now, everything can’t be perfect.
The people are incredibly generous, which include the students and staff. One con, is the fact that FIU is primarily a commuter school, so most of the people you’ll meet don’t live on campus, but probably 30 minutes away.
Living on campus is beautiful as you wake up to an amazing scenery. The food is amazing, with plenty of options. We are ranked #1 in college food, so that should tell you something.
I made the right decision to attend FIU. I am projected to graduate in 2029, majoring in Biological Sciences, pre med.
I like how convienent the online class for CS is. I wouldn’t have been able to finish my degree if I didn’t go here. The learning basics of programming made it easier to get a job too. I will cherish that knowledge forever.
View moreGreat university. Very understanding. Good if you have a full time job. It’s accommodating with a lot of classes available. Only issue is mainly the location and parking. It gets a little annoying, but it’s still a great school.
