Mercyhurst University offers programs and activities for everyone, and if there isn’t something already available for you, the school will support you in creating something new. That way, no student feels left out of the school culture. Mercyhurst University also takes pride in its name and history, so there are activities that are meant to be a break for the students, which also educate the students on the school’s history.
With everything that makes this school an amazing experience, one thing that I came across that proved frustrating was the limited number of available classes per semester for certain topics. There are too many students who need to take classes like genetics for only a couple to be offered each semester. That class could be a prerequisite for some individuals, and by not getting a seat in the class, the semester that their schedule says they need to take it forces the student to fall behind in their studies. Genetics is not the only class that which this happens. Advisors do try and help students as much as they can to navigate the limited class availability, but there is only so much they can fill your schedule.
