AU is a fantastic university that offers many opportunities to its students. For starters, it offers very generous financial aid, with different types of merit aid given to many students. During my first semester, I was accepted into the NU in program which allows you to study abroad for your first semester. It can be quite overwhelming at first and it’s certainly not a traditional college experience, but it’s 100% worth it. Gain a great experience in another country and learn to be independent. The party scene is definitely lacking, but if you’re the gregarious type, you can find your way to the partying in the surrounding colleges which are close enough. As for academics, my first year at AU was fantastic and I have had many excellent teachers who have met all my needs. So far I would 100% recommend this school to anyone. The accommodation is comparable to most other colleges in that the accommodation for freshmen is not great. Also, AU is definitely not a party school, even if that doesn’t mean people don’t like having fun. It’s just that they aren’t annoying because of it. Overall, however, I think it’s a very good return on investment for multiple co-ops, definitely giving you an edge over other students.
