AU Residentials Halls - The Pros and Cons

Most students move off campus after their first or second year and choose to move to Berkshire Residentials, a local apartment complex. It is a kind of extended student accommodation, to the point where the school even rents apartments from the facility so that they can be considered campus accommodation (which come fully furnished). Most students choose this option and decide to arrange their accommodation separately from the university. The advantages: gas / electricity included, 5 minutes walk from the campus, a large student population living there, away from the “dry campus” of the AU. Cons: Expensive – due to the rush of students for accommodation, local areas can raise prices which are not comparable to the appearance of the apartment. The apartment is somewhat known for its cockroach problem, but there is a supermarket in the basement which, while expensive, is convenient. The apartment will spray insects upon request and they are quite good. It just depends on where you are in the building.
