American University - Small and Safe Campus
Small and Safe Campus – American University has a very small campus, with additional buildings in the area, and I have never felt unsafe quad biking at night. Even at 2am after a long night in the library, I feel very safe. It’s not often that a student doesn’t come across a public security officer here at the AU day and night. AU offers a shuttle service to all of their additional buildings in the surrounding neighborhood and a service that will pick you up if you don’t feel safe. Of course, the AU suffers library theft when unattended laptops are left to the public, or if you decide to leave your dorm room unlocked, but lately public security has been trying to be vigilant about such acts (it’s not uncommon for an agent asking you to view an unattended laptop in the wild, is their way of preventing theft).
