I love the University of York, as it seems to fall into a perfect bracket below the countries’ more elite and intense universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Durham yet still maintains an outstanding quality of education as well as the perks of a collegiate system- not to mention the beautiful campus. There is room in York for those who simply want to learn and graduate with an impressive degree, but also those who wish to fully enjoy their university experience: making new friends; joining societies; experiencing the city and all its’ charm. I am half way through my first year and have settled in well, and look forward to my future years here. Accommodation is of varying age, although there are new buildings being built constantly and I do not know of anyone who doesn’t enjoy the flat-sharing experience.
