I did my undergraduate degree in International Relations at St Andrews and loved it. The university is situated in a tiny, picturesque town on the Scottish coast, with students making up a large part of the population. The student body is extremely international.
In between your studies you will get to know the town (and its inhabitants) like the back of your hand, and will have the opportunity to partake in some very special and ancient traditions. St Andrews is home to Raisin Weekend, the Gaudie, the UK’s oldest Debating Society and the famous red undergraduate gowns, amongst many other things.
Class sizes are small and the quality of teaching is excellent. The only downside is having to revise for your exams in the ’60s carpark aka the Library!
