I studied English Language and Literature at Leeds, and what I liked most was how naturally the course pulled me into thinking differently about everyday language. The course itself was great. The School of English is a beautiful building to work in and modules were varied. The downsides were mostly practical, eg popular modules filled up fast, and during deadline season finding a seat in Edward Boyle Library felt like a competitive sport.
The campus itself is stunning, particularly in spring and having Hyde Park right there made everything feel lighter. Great student life, with cheap local pubs, and even a bar at the Student Union. Overall, Leeds gave me a degree I’m proud of and a student experience I’d happily relive.
