Overrated University

Terrible college experience Allocated to college on one side of town and given accommodation on the other end. No assignments, lectures (some of them) are very lecturer oriented Groups too large to be manageable – one workshop a term just doesn’t cut it. Very unhealthy, stressful environment. Content of course is good though. I do think, however, that much more could be done to make the experience more human. Too many people are struggling and the law faculty just turns a blind eye.

Politics is well taught but history at Cambridge is very poorly taught, narrow subject choices that focus entirely on the West, very boring. Many of the people here are rich and out of touch with reality, many have serious intellectual superiority complexes. Toxic work culture that makes you feel like you have to work 24/7 and is very bad for your mental health.

However, the facilities are amazing. And you receive some good academic support.

To sum up, studying at Cambridge is very stressful. You need to have a break-there’s too much to do in the small amount of time. Cambridge is a great city to live in and study – it is so pretty. Clubs and societies are great and there is lots to do. The College union is good.
