Primarily, the University of Glasgow has the most beautiful campus in all of the options for Scottish universities. Its large gothic centre piece playing a key role in persuading the upcoming students to chose it. However, as a student originating from Glasgow, most of the students were from abroad or some from maybe a ‘higher’ class than I was from, so would sometimes come across as more ‘snobby’ in some cases. Aside from this, having the experience of meeting such a large variety of different people from diverse backgrounds allowed me to grow and understand the world more than just my little bubble in Scotland, so I would recommend trying to make conversations with the people in your lectures and seminars, as you could find some similarities you might not have found otherwise. English Literature as a course has been excellent, with its mix of professors with different outlooks on each novel- all of which I have enjoyed thoroughly, as I feel like there was a good splash of genres included from Frankenstein to Giovannis Room. I would highly recommend studying English literature here.
