UoM is renowned for its research and you can definitely feel its pedigree when walking around campus with its mix of new and old historical buildings especially with the recent developments of the SU and business school. The courses are well taught and put much emphasis on an individual study which I personally enjoy although I’ve found many modules rely heavily on textbooks which cost a lot of money which isn’t really justified when you only use them for the 10 week duration of the module especially when many have online copies available. In terms of student life, Fallowfield is definitely party central and much of the social scene is centred around there. Although Fallowfied can be fun it can get very hectic at times so if you want something quieter then Victoria Park is your best bet.
