What Is a History Degree?

History Degree Structure

Like most of the degrees, any History course concludes with a dissertation in any chosen area of interest.

StudentGBSheffield Success!Having grown up in both busy cities and small towns, my priority when choosing a University was having a sense of familiarity. The University of Sheffield offers the perfect, happy medium between bustling city and peaceful simplicity. On one hand, you have a campus built into the city, only a few minutes walk away from the centre, and on the other, you are never more than a bus drive away from the Peak District. The location of Sheffield is perfect for any student who’s searching for a lively student atmosphere, or a quiet nature escape on the weekends.
The facilities that Sheffield has to offer are outstanding and fulfil every students needs. The Student Union houses Foundry, a great spot for weekly nights out, and the Diamond Kitchen (located in The Diamond) has some of the best iced lattes to fuel your study sessions!
I would 100% recommend The University of Sheffield!

With the understanding that The University of Sheffield is part of the Russel Group association, I can confirm that the standards of teaching are extremely high. I however do find the structure of the lectures very scattered and without a clear outline. This therefore means the lectures are sometimes difficult to follow and may be confusing. This, however, does not mean that the course, in my case history, is over all bad because it is highly interesting and valuable to a student, such as myself, who enjoys history material. I, therefore, find it appropriate to conclude that the style of teaching in lecture halls definitely has area for improvement however is not objectively bad.

Very friendly uni environment, well taught with good facilities and campus. The city itself is really nice and the main student accommodation is in a particularly great bit. For my course at least, the workload was reasonable while still covering a lot of ground.
