Living in York I had a range of close Universities to choose from, I chose Sheffield. Starting my first year during COVID, I felt like the University did not handle this well, as I only met the people who I lived with. Which was for a few months as I got the choice to move home and work remotely – which I did. This, including having mental health issues, I have found it hard throughout my entire degree to meet people.
However, the staff are incredibly understanding and helpful, always have time for you, and are easy to get along with. This has encouraged me throughout my degree.
Physically, the campus is extremely large but easy to navigate around, as well as quick and cheap public transport if necessary.
I would definitely recommend this University, but every student is different and has different requirements. From my experience, their humanity degrees are exceptional.
