The University of Sheffield is a brilliant institution in a very student friendly city. The staff are usually involved in active research which means that you get cutting edge teaching, but also it really feels like a place which cares for its students. The student union is amazing, there is great support in place if you are struggling and there is a really friendly buzz to the campus. There is loads to get involved with both academically and socially and it is a really brilliant location to experience student life. Downsides are it is really hilly, and generally cold outside.
