The University of St Andrews, situated in coastal Fife, is a wonderful place to study and live. From vibrant social life to quiet coffee shops and libraries, St Andrews has something for everyone. My favourite thing about St Andrews is the people. This quaint little town is home to lovely, kind locals that are always helpful and welcoming to students. The students themselves are also kind and create a diverse and inclusive community. There are over 150 clubs and societies that are all extremely welcoming and are great ways to make friends and connect with like-minded people and you are sure to find something new that you will love. University definitely wouldn’t have been as good an experience if I had gone somewhere other than here.
View moreI just finished my first year of university at the University of St. Andrews. It has been a very unique experience. I wouldn’t say that there are no lows. I have definitely felt lonely and scared at times. However, I have met the most wonderful freshers and seniors who have been there for me through everything. I have learnt so much from the faculty. I studied a very different academic system in high school so adjusting to the new system was something I feared for very very long. However, I received continuous support from the psychology department and the career centre- Which helps you write your essay step by step. This definitely made me a better write and student. Moreover, it eased my anxiety and made it easier for me to make friends and enjoy in my free time. I love all my classes. We have lab classes every week for 2 hours which gives you a practical experience of what we study the entire week. It makes it easier to apply what we’ve studied to the real world- this definitely makes me fall in love with what I am studying even more. I enjoy all the events and parties in college. Being a place with a lot of International students, everyone is very open-minded and friendly. St. Andrews is definitely a great university and I would definitely recommend it.
