I am an Egyptian undergraduate student at the University of Manchester and I have had a great experience so far. The university has a very diverse student population, which has allowed me to meet students from all over the world, while not feeling left out. The campus is modern and well-equipped with all student essentials, including libraries, labs, and sports facilities.

I study an Information Technology Management course, and I find the material to be challenging and engaging. From my experience I found academics and professors to be knowledgeable and approachable, well most of them. There are also so many opportunities to get involved in research and extracurricular activities through the hundreds if not more of student led societies. Manchester University’s commitment to student welfare and the numerous resources made available for students is also commendable. Support services are great and have helped me adapt to this new country quickly, and also helped my career development.

However, there are a few things which I would have changed in an ideal world, but unfortunately it is not an ideal world. The city, being one of the largest in the UK, can be a bit disorienting and expensive, and finding affordable housing proves to be a challenge for many. Additionally, the campus is very big, which can be seen as both a pro and con I suppose, which makes it difficult to enjoy all the facilities. For example the sports ground is almost an hour walk from the main library.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the University of Manchester to any student who wants to live in a large and diverse community. It provides a well-rounded educational experience with a supportive environment and plenty of opportunities to get involved with other students.

Manchester University is an excellent place to pursue higher learning. The university offers modern learning facilities and the lecturer’s are up to date on the latest teachings.

Manchester is a good place to live and work while it also offers a good night life for social events. The people are friendly and accommodating as well.
