Applying for Ravensbourne University was one of the best things I did for myself. My first year entailed on me learning many new skills and socialising with peers. Due to studying half of my college course in lockdown, I missed out on learning the Adobe softwares as well as I should of,However half way through my first year at Ravensbourne I had learned everything about Adobe.
As soon as you enter the University building you instantly feel inspired and welcomed, the environment is filled with creativity and as someone who loves the creative industry, you feel at home. The facilities available are great, you have access to high tech cameras/ equipment and many printers such as riso printing. The only negative point I have about the facilities, is the printing, the printing can be quite expensive and they can mess up a lot which can be very annoying. Although, if they do, a refund is available for the money you spent on print.
The teachers are experienced individuals who still work in the industry which is very helpful as they teach you everything you need to know instead of text book work. They are very knowledgeable and helpful, if you need help they will always go above and beyond to ensure your work is great. You also get lots of opportunities to work with many big creative businesses by completing live briefs that offer a reward.
The location of the University is beautiful and refreshing. Being right next to the O2 is great as during your breaks you can eat lunch at the restaurants in the O2 or you can do some shopping. There is North Greenwhich station that is about a 2 minute walk away from the University, so commuting is super easy.
Overall, I love studying at Ravensbourne University and highly recommend this University to anyone who wants to study a creative course.
View moreI went into Ravensbourne expecting a lot more than the experience I recieved. The tutors were mainly uninterested and unqualified. There was little to no student integration or community, making it hard to make friends and mingle with your peers. Overall my experience was very mediocre and I wouldn’t recommend the university to anyone. They also handled the pandemic quite badly and for someone who’s second and third year was basically all online that is extremely detrimental to the overall experience. A shame.
