My program (Business Management and Spanish) was really varied and gave me a really broad view of both areas. Generally, my lecturers were good, although there were a few that I felt it was difficult to stay concentrated on due to their very thick foreign accents, especially in the business school. Lectures were generally interesting and I really enjoyed group work in seminars and having lots of opportunities to practice presentations. One thing I didn’t like, especially with Spanish, is that the marketing criteria focussed on including specific elements to tick boxes, rather than the overall quality of your work. Also, we missed out on a lot of contact hours because lecturers were on strike a lot of the time.
My favourite part of my course is that it really let me delve into different areas, and with my extra modules I as able to study both Portuguese and Russian also. The business school was extremely international, whilst Spanish (LCS school) was less so. The student life in Leeds is excellent, and the Student Union had lots going on and a huge variety of societies. I would definitely reccommend the school to others, and I feel like my career prospects are greatly improved by my degree at Leeds.
