As a second-year student studying BA Business Management with Marketing at the University of Leeds, I’ve really valued the diversity and flexibility of this course. Whilst looking for the right fit at for university programmes, this course in particular gives such a wide scope into your future career in the industry. The programme offers a strong balance between management and marketing, which has allowed me to gain a well-rounded understanding of both disciplines. Modules such as Brand Management and Leadership Ethics have been particularly engaging, providing insightful perspectives into how businesses operate and how marketing strategies are shaped.
However, as with many courses, there are factors to be aware of. One area for improvement is the practical application of theory. While the academic content is strong, I feel there could be more integration of real-world business scenarios within the work. This would help bridge the gap between theory and the real-world industries we will be entering in the future. That said, Leeds does offer plenty of external opportunities, such as internships, guest lectures, and industry projects. These opportunities, if you take advantage of them, can be used to gain this practical exposure alongside the degree.
Overall, the course offers a diverse view into the marketing field, combining management and marketing in a way that builds both strategic and creative skills.
