One thing that I like about this university is that the people are so welcoming, and the staff are so supportive of your needs. I believe that this is a good aspect for a university to have because it ensures that the students do not feel left out. However, one thing that I don’t like about this university is that there is only one library and considering there are a lot of students attending, it would make sense to include a new library.

View moreI went to huddersfield through clearing and the experience was good. I got onto the course i wanted to do.
The best things about huddersfield are that the tutors for my course we’re great and the modules were well structured. They were available during covid which was very useful because going online wasn’t the best. The online learning was okay but made concentration difficult in my opinion.
The worst things about huddersfield are that the timetabling was sometimes broken or confusing, this did get fixed eventually.
I really liked my course as there was a wide variety of elements and this kept things engaging and interesting. There was a lot of reading of a range of texts, which I enjoyed. I particularly like the language of humour module. The tutors were accessible although I wasn’t quite prepared for how fast-paced it would be and how much was self-guided. I loved being in the halls of residence and met some amazing people throughout my 3 years.
View moreFor me, I am an International student, also a top-up student major in TESOL. For the top-up course is a one-year program, I am quite nervous before I came to the UK because I worried about how much I could learn from such a short timeframe. However, when the semester starts, I found that the course was excellent. First of all, the lecturers arrange the learning process step by step for us who just came to the University and help us enter a flow state, cultivate our thinking into critical. Secondly, there are lots of resources we could access. For example, the library, it was convenient to find and get books or ebooks which you want. Even If some questions emerge, either the lecturers or the librarian can give some useful advice for my study. Thirdly For accommodation, Huddersfield is a nice place to live because I can go to every necessary place on foot such as supermarket or railway station. The locations of those are friendly to students. Besides, there has a lovely park named greenhead park which I like most, and an ancient castle dotted on the mountain top which I can see it every day when I walk back to my dorm. I can say if you like natural scenery, then you will love life in Huddersfield.
At last, I get a first-class degree in my study which achieved my initial goal. I would recommend the course to future students because the memory of this year is quiet cannot forget.
