The professors and instructors were highly knowledgeable and experienced professionals who brought real-world expertise to the classroom. They were approachable, encouraging active participation and fostering a collaborative learning environment that greatly enriched the course.

he university’s state-of-the-art facilities and collaborations with local television stations and production houses provided an excellent platform for students to apply their learning in a real-world setting. These experiences not only enhanced our technical skills but also equipped us with the confidence and professional competence necessary for success in the industry.

Another highlight of this course was the access to industry professionals. The university arranged guest lectures, workshops, and networking events, providing students with the opportunity to connect directly with experienced professionals from the television industry. These interactions allowed us to gain valuable insights, build contacts, and even explore potential internship or employment opportunities.

Falmouth is amazing. The professors are incredibly knowledgeable and seem to enjoy sharing that knowledge. And, in light of these challenging times, they have all been flexible to accommodate individual needs, which must be very difficult on them. The staff is equally wonderful. I’m getting what I came for…and then some more.

The tools and networking opportunities at my institution are excellent for my major. Although the town is smaller and less culturally and racially diverse than the one I am used to, I participated in a summer program for multicultural and first-generation students my freshman year, which helped me adjust and get to know some of the other students on campus with whom I could identify. It has been a lovely experience all around. I sense that I am at home here.

In general, I enjoyed the more practical elements of the BA Music course at Falmouth University. Particular highlights were the Music Tech module, learning about production, mixing and mastering, and Core Music Practice, which involved one-to-one instrumental sessions, giving us a broader understanding of our instruments and techniques that could be applied to them to build on our musicianship. The recording studio facilities and equipment are fantastic, with industry-standard recording/mixing gear and microphones. One criticism I have would be the organisation of the modules during the COVID pandemic, and some lecturers lack professionalism regarding the delivery of lectures and responses to emails. As this was a trying time for all of us, I think we would have benefitted from more effort from some, not all, of the staff to make online learning a better experience and have it be more interactive.

The course I’m on, in particular, is amazing and all the tutors are experienced in the industry and are more than willing to pass on their knowledge. There are a number of nationalities around the campus and a mixture of international students studying on campus too. The area is beautiful, I constantly feel like I’m on holiday when walking around however if you’re someone who likes to party there’s not a lot going on in regards to nightlife.
