For myself, I was on the BA Drawing course and found that I wasn’t 100% sure that I would do the same course again. I appreciated a lot of aspects of the course – the unit content was interesting and built a wider perspective on the subject matter. It was also great to have a community of people that were like-minded on the subject, but then again that could be said of any place – it’s not exclusive to Falmouth University.
Some of the tutors were great and very clear and helpful, but some of them weren’t as much. I found that a lot of the marking criteria was very vague and a lot of the time it could be difficult to gauge what could be done to improve my work. Often times I would also have contradictory opinions on this from different tutors, which was very frustrating. I was consistently told not to even consider grades in my practise, however it was difficult to do this in a practical, functioning in the outside world kind of way. There was also minimal support when it came to finding jobs after university.
