I currently study Politics and International Studies at Warwick University. While the content of the course is interesting, the overall communication of my home department is poor, with much confusion about dates of exams, protocols and events. The lecturers and staff are very helpful though, but they do not have enough time in their lectures to get through the material.
View moreI think the university is amazing. The professors are very warm and lovely and I think what I would like more is for us to have a lecture for an hour before discussing for the other hour. This would help with understanding topics more
View moreI love the layout of the university’s campus. The accommodations are in close proximity to each other which makes socializing easier. The societies most definitely made my university experience a lot better.
The library is a great space to study and has everything you could need. It is definitely a great workplace environment. I love how interactive my seminars are. I don’t think there is much I’d change 🙂
The University of Warwick is one of the best universities in the United Kingdom. Dedicated professors make your experience and your learning very smooth as well as they provide plenty of opportunities to develop your career skills. However, the university is on-campus and it is in the middle of Warwickshire, therefore, there is not much to do around. Moreover, it is a university targeted to middle and upper class students, as the price of living there is very expensive.
View moreI have enjoyed the campus which has so many facilities to offer. It has its own grocery store and lots of restaurants to choose from on campus! Recently, they have opened a vegan and green restaurant on campus which i find very interesting. There is even a post office and a salon on central campus to make your life easier! I think warwick offers a very supportive environment with good wellbeing services. There are services for mental wellbeing as well as a service called Nightline that one can call up at anytime in the night to ask for support. The university has many events which helped me meet new people and any type of student society you could think of! I personally really enjoy Tiktok and they even have a tiktok society to join! The teachers and staff are extremely helpful as well, and the personal tutors go out of their way to help you. I study politics and really enjoy it! In my second year, i have started living in leamington spa, a town nearby (which is around 20 minutes away by bus). I really like the town as it offers a lot of things to do, there are trampoline parks nearby, a bubble tea place and even huge gardens and parks to stroll around. Definitely recommend warwick to everyone who enjoys having a good social life.
View moreI study Politics at the University of Warwick and am currently in my second year.
I chose Warwick because it is considered to be the best in the uK for politics and international studies and I definitely don’t regret making the choice.
At first, coming to university came as a cultural shock to me, living in India with my parents and then living a completely independent life in a new country was very scary. However, on joining Warwick, I met so many people from different cultures facing similar problems and coming from similar backgrounds that my worries started to fade away. With time, I started to learn how to adapt to this new setting.
Academically, my course is very collaborative and enriching. It’s also quite flexible because I can choose my own modules and am even allowed to pick modules from the business school. The professors are very knowledgeable and supportive. Beyond their support, each student is also allotted a personal tutor and a senior tutor who one can ask for advice, share problems with and speak to.
Luckily I was given my first choice for accommodation which was Bluebell. Bluebell is an en-suite accommodation on the central campus, so its very convenient to live in. I personally preferred an en-suite accommodation, however, Warwick does have shared accommodation options on central campus as well near the lake etc. which allows one to make choices out of a variety of options.
Having lived in a city all my life, I do feel that the campus is a bit excluded from the rest of the hustle-bustle of Coventry and other nearby cities. Even though it offers everything on campus, a grocery store, restaurants, a cafe and even a bar, I still feel like the location aspect is a bit lacking. Other than that, overall it is a great experience and I definitely recommend it for politics and international studies.
Warwick is a great university with very high ranking and exceptional staff. This university provides an overall great experience as it has a good balance between social and academic life. With a huge number of societies that help a person make friends and feel at home. Warwick is a host to students from all around the world which gives you a high level of exposure. I would definitely recommend Warwick university to everyone.
View moreFantastic teaching and facilities and general life around the uni. The review is not 5 stars due to the way in which both the group chat scandal and the exam timetable debacle was inadequately handled by the University.
