The university is quite small, which definitely improves the teaching quality. My class has only around 30 students so it’s easy to ask for help, interact with peers and get 1-1 assistance off the lecturer. This has made my time starting at university less stressful and more enjoyable.
View moreVery informative, great range of different genres taught by knowledgeable and approachable tutors. Even if you don’t advance into drama the skills are transferable to other careers and help build confidence. It’s a course which quickly establishes teamwork and friendships. I liked the fact that you are not stuck in just one room but that there are various spaces used throughout the course and for rehearsals. Fantastic theatre and great productions from outside agencies were brought in to see. As well as performing you learn about backstage, how to put on a performance, and working in the community. Third year you are given independence after being given all the guidance and information you need to put on your own show and express your mind, but still with the tutors available for guidance if needed or wanted. I would recommend this course to anyone who was struggling with what to choose but has a creative side, with an interest in dance and drama due to the fact that the skills learnt throughout are transferable to most careers.
View moreI adored my time at BG. My course was recommended to me by my college tutor and we were well matched. I love drama and how it can be used to teach people a variety of skills that can be used on the stage, but also in life itself.
My course was full time with a well planned curriculum and some amazing opportunities scheduled – my favourite of which was attending and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Our tutors were passionate about their fields of study, as well as competent in the delivery of their individual sessions.
As well as offering a brilliant educational experience, the student life at BG was top notch!
One of my closest friends became the SU President and we were all heavily involved in the social aspects of Uni Life.
