Honestly the university has a cool environment which favorable for discussions the environment is quit.
The lectures do give us time to make our own research regarding on the topics. We do have different choices in this we study at our own convenience.
This school has been full of both sweet, unforgettable memories and challenging moments that I truly appreciate. The hardest times came when I had to focus on personal growth independently, relying on self-motivation to navigate everything. What I really value is the student mental health support, the availability of study materials, and the friendly staff and peers. I would strongly recommend this school to anyone.
View moreMakerere University Business School (MUBS) is one of Uganda’s leading institutions for business and management education. During the 2010–2012 period, (2013 graduated) it was known for quality lecturers, diverse programs, and strong links to Kampala’s business community, offering good networking opportunities. However, large class sizes, limited resources, and occasional administrative delays affected the learning experience. Despite these challenges, MUBS provided a solid academic foundation and practical exposure for students pursuing business careers. I would recommend MUBS for its reputation, affordability, and relevance in Uganda’s job market, especially for self-driven students who can thrive in a competitive learning environment.
The lecturers were knowledgeable and supportive, and the school offered valuable exposure to Uganda’s business environment. The experience strengthened my confidence and practical knowledge. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of the People California Pasadena USA from 2023 to-date,to advance my career and deepen my understanding of global business practices.
View moreStudying at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has been a transformative experience for me as an economics finalist student. The university offers a wide range of programs in business that are practical and industry oriented. I particularly appreciated the exposure to experienced lecturers, PHD holders, who bring real world insights into the lecture rooms as well as the many opportunities for networking through clubs, associations and students dialogues and other activities.
One of the things I liked most about MUBS is its vibrant and dynamic campus life. There is always something happening and you just have to choose where you want to be, from academic workshops, to cultural galas and other extracurricular activities that keep students engaged beyond lecture rooms.
However like many large institutions, MUBS does face a big challenge of over crowded classes. The students enrolled per year are more than what the classrooms can contain so they resorted to splitting different class years into online weeks and physical weeks where some students in particular years study online for some weeks while others are at campus for physical lectures and vice versus.
Over all, I believe MUBS prepares students well for the professional world through internships and encourages independent thinking, creativity and resilience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a business education in Uganda especially for those who want to combine academic growth with personal development.
View morebusiness and marketing, with a good balance of theory and practical case studies. The lecturers are knowledgeable and approachable, and I appreciated how they encouraged us to think critically and apply concepts to real-world business situations. The diversity of students also makes the campus environment lively and engaging, with plenty of opportunities to learn from different perspectives.
On the other hand, the administrative processes can be slow and sometimes frustrating, especially when it comes to handling transcripts or paperwork. Facilities such as lecture halls and libraries could also be better maintained and upgraded to match the growing student population.
Overall, I would recommend MUBS to students interested in business because of the strong academic grounding and exposure it provides, but I believe there is still room for improvement in infrastructure and service delivery.
