The uni is fine in general. I studied in the Beytepe Campus; it’s a bit far away if you’re commuting from the city centre or any other place, but it’s green and offers a lot of fun activities and a true university experience that I wouldn’t have got in my home country. Our faculty’s building (IR in Economics and Administrative Sciences) was a bit outdated, with a toilet lacking toilet paper, classes not being cleaned etc. and showing underfunding, but it was fine in other aspects.
My degree was okay – I feel like I could’ve done more; it wasn’t challenging enough. When I went for the exchange, I saw how academia worked in other countries, that you can take classes from different departments, really mix and match, have career centres and other amenities. We had to attend all classes (with actual attendance sheets) for lectures, even if they were just presentations that I could’ve read at home, what was a bit annoying, but it is the whole education system, not the university’s fault. Also, my degree was in English, but some professors still conducted the classes in Turkish, or their level of English was not satisfactory. We mostly just listened and copied information that was then expected from us in the exam and I really wish students would be more involved, with some group projects or seminars. If you are a bit smart and clever, it is a fun and doable degree; I know, however, that people in other departments are really struggling. Overall, I think I would’ve picked a different uni if I could, but I’m doing the best with what I have here, enjoying the campus life.

The university is great in many respects. It is one of the best universities in Türkiye for a reason. It offers a wide range of courses and a long list of communities for people with differents hobbies and interests. The atmosphere is very social and friendly. Numerous food courts, cheap cafeterias, cofffee shops, farmacies, a hospital and different sports facilities can be found on campus. Many lecturers have an experience of studying and teaching in some of the world`s best universities. Mostly, they are very understanding but demanding as well.

Hacettepe University is one of the best universities in Turkey. It has a great campus and there are many opportunities on the campus. Also, education at Hacettepe University is too quality. On the other hand, the academic staff of the university is talented in their own field.

It was my dream being a part of Hacettepe University since my childhood. So when I started to my department, international relations, I was happy to meet my teachers. They are all perfect professors in their field.

Hacettepe University is one of the top 5 universities in Turkey. It has huge campus and different subjects to study. I was studying international relations but ı had opportunity to take some courses from Bussiness and Economics departments. Also the best things in the university there are student communities which organize seminars, conferences and student workshops with companies, public institutions, international and non governmental organizations. It has a really good opportunity to gain experience while you are studying and create a network. Also in the university there are many free or almost free options because it is state university. There are 3 times food in a day and 4 types of meal which costs is less than 1 euro for all students. Free gym centers and sport halls. There is an olympic pool which cost 20 euro for one academic year.
