I would definitely not recommend it. There is a comment on Quora on why this university should be avoided and the person who wrote it hit the bullseye. Everything is confusing, the study plans and the way of conducting individual tasks, writing papers and proposals etc. There is no compromise with the professors unless they really like you, usually they stick to their plan regarless of how illogical and impractical it might be. They interupt you in the middle of your presentations, reduce your final mark if you go over the alloted time by only one minute. Generally, they consider knowledge to be a simple exchange of information in a designed period of time and do not see its higher, more sublime value. Also, the university (at least my programme) does not offer any marketable skills or competences. We don’t learn things, we just read papers and “interpret” them in class and then write a replication of a study or so. Creativity is strictly forbidden, every word has to have its reference and respond to a citation. I often feel like a machine gathering and reproducing and recycling old information than like a living, thinking being at RUG. And forget about asking questions – the more you ask the more backlash you will get from the professors and the administrative staff. Nobody there wants you to enjoy and learn, your job is to exist in the system, pay your tuition on time and shut your mouth. Bad university, the worst decision I had ever made. At least the city is beautiful enough.
