Studying at the Amsterdam School of International Business has been one of the most defining experiences of my academic life. The program is very hands-on, and I quickly moved from just learning theory to applying it in real business cases, group projects, and presentations that felt close to real corporate work.
What stood out most were the classes and lecturers. Many professors had industry experience, so lectures felt practical and relevant, not just textbook-based. Modules like international marketing and trade strategy challenged me to think globally and improved my confidence in decision-making and teamwork. I’m especially proud of leading a project team that developed a market entry plan for a European brand. That experience sharpened my research, communication, and leadership skills.
Campus life was also a big highlight. The international environment pushed me out of my comfort zone. Working with students from different cultures improved my adaptability and perspective. It honestly felt like preparing for the real global workplace every day.
The workload can be demanding, but that pressure helped me grow academically and personally. I became more disciplined, more confident presenting ideas, and clearer about my career path in international business.
For future students, expect practical learning, supportive lecturers, and a diverse community. If you’re serious about building real-world business skills and gaining global exposure, this school will challenge you in the best way possible.
View moreI’ve recently graduated from this school as an international student. Overall the level of learning at this school is in my opinion below any reasonable standards. Lecturers were constantly late, canceling lectures and if the lecture happened it was usually just a presentation which I could have read by myself. Additionally, the systems this school uses are extremely outdated. I was supposed to receive a diploma during a graduation ceremony, but due to a glitch in the system I didn’t receive anything. My parents flew in from very far away, and left with a sorrow taste. Overall during 3 years of my study this school caused me more stress and confusion that any good.
View moreI’ve been studying at AMSIB for 3 years now. Almost 2 years were online studying due to COVID so I will share my experience considering most of the study up till now was online. I did start this year going to campus again. The program overall is pretty general. That makes the program pretty attractive to anybody because you can go to so many different fields after graduating. There is a possibility to do a major and to specialise in a field you like. However, the selection is pretty small (only 6 different majors) so that could be a point for improvement. The building of the school is located pretty far from the city centre and is placed next to a shopping area. As a result, there is not a lot to do around so most students just go home after. It’s a shame cause socialising is very important for us students. The school itself does not initiate a lot of social activities/ events which I think is a shame as well. The quality of the classes and the range of courses are pretty good. Some courses I would have to preferred to skip but most courses are a good pick. I really feel after 3 years that I gained so much knowledge about the business world and everything around it. The communication between students and teachers should be better. The communication goes through email and is very slow. Teachers should be more involved in my opinion. Diversity and inclusivity are also pretty impressive. However, the students should be more spread out between classes cause many classes are mostly Dutch students which counteracts the whole international environment idea. To finish, I would recommend the program as students gain enough knowledge by the time they want to choose a major which makes more students pursue their desired career path. I feel the school is working a lot on improving itself and its courses so I think it’s on the right path.
